Understanding gearbox performance under real operating conditions requires simulation methods that combine accuracy with computational efficiency. In the first webinar of a three-part CadenceTECHTALK series, attendees will explore how GPU-accelerated Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) can be applied to transient gearbox simulations using the ANSA SPH solver from Cadence.
The session will demonstrate the simulation of a planetary gearbox, examining the influence of oil temperature on viscosity over time. It will also highlight how an advanced contact engine captures multibody dynamics, enabling realistic interaction between fluid and mechanical systems within a unified simulation environment.
Topics covered include:
- Setting up transient SPH gearbox simulations with thermal–viscosity coupling
- Leveraging GPU acceleration to reduce simulation time while maintaining accuracy
- Modeling planetary gearbox multibody dynamics using a dedicated contact engine
- Understanding the parameters that affect simulation performance and computational efficiency
This webinar marks the beginning of a three-part series focused on multiphysics applications of the ANSA SPH solver. Subsequent sessions will address water wading simulations with one-way FSI and rain simulations coupled with the Cadence Fidelity Flow solver.
