One of the major challenges in multiphysics is the coupling of different physical domains. Mathematics, numerics and computational strategies need to be selected carefully. Physics can operate at different rates and scales, using different solvers that can lead to numerical and physical instabilities.
This webinar will focus on the coupling of structural dynamics and acoustics (aka vibroacoustics). There is a wide range of products that need this coupling. Of course, we all might think on a loudspeaker first, but there are lots of noise engineering applications in the automotive industry, in aerospace and defense, the marine industry, in machinery and industrial equipment, and with consumer products (e.g. home appliances).
The coupling of physical domains is not a straightforward task and clearly requires benchmarking. The main purpose of benchmarking is to measure and compare performance, processes, or metrics against competitors or industry best practices to identify performance gaps and drive continuous improvement.
We will show the generation and execution of a benchmark case for vibroacoustics. The general principles will be explained in detail, so that it can be used as a guideline for a wide range of coupling problems, not limited to vibroacoustics.

Jonathan Jacqmot is a vibro-acoustic simulation specialist working as an external consultant for various industrial sectors. Before starting his consulting activity, he worked for 17 years at MSC Software, where he developed extensive expertise in acoustic and vibro-acoustic simulation.
Alfred J. Svobodnik

As forerunner and thought leader I am continuously looking for and exploring new solutions for excellent sound quality and active noise control for our clients’ products; e. g. in the car, in the concert hall, in an airplane ... I successfully helped numerous automobile manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers, premier pro audio as well as renowned consumer companies to build and implement CAE audio development processes.
