The Focus Team will investigate requirements, benchmark methods, and model-information needs for real-time multibody dynamics.
The team will address two related but distinct questions:
- How should the accuracy, robustness, reproducibility, and real-time performance of multibody simulation methods be benchmarked?
- Which engineering information must be preserved when multibody models move between CAE, real-time, and other simulation environments?
Objectives
- Benchmarking Real-Time Multibody Dynamics: Establish standardized methods to assess computational performance, deadline compliance, numerical stability, and physical fidelity, including constraint accuracy and energy behavior.
- Universal Multibody Format: Investigate requirements for solver-independent model representation, exchange, and reuse, preserving essential engineering information, parametrization, and potentially interactive simulation capabilities.
