Real-Time and Universal File Format Focus Team

Real-Time Multibody Dynamics and Universal File Format Focus Team

The Focus Team will investigate requirements, benchmark methods, and model-information needs for real-time multibody dynamics.

The team will address two related but distinct questions:

  • How should the accuracy, robustness, reproducibility, and real-time performance of multibody simulation methods be benchmarked?
  • Which engineering information must be preserved when multibody models move between CAE, real-time, and other simulation environments?

Objectives

  • Benchmarking Real-Time solvers: Establishing standardized criteria to measure execution speed, fixed-timestep, numerical tolerance, constraint stabilisation, and deadline compliance across real-time solvers.
  • Universal Multibody file format: Defining the minimum engineering data required for loss-free model transfer including coordinate frames, topology, mass properties, joints, force elements, initial conditions, and runtime parameters.
