Simulation Driven Design

Simulation Driven Design:

Working together to accelerate change

18 March 2027 | Warsaw, Poland

Abstract Submission

Abstract Deadline: December 7th 2026

Despite advances in software, simulation is often still treated as a final verification step, used to analyse models after decisions about the design have already been made. This is often not the most effective or efficient way of doing things, and yet it persists.

A simulation-driven design approach reverses this order of doing things, putting simulation first. It provides engineers with the opportunity to iteratively refine geometries, detect potential failure modes early, and shorten the feedback loop between design and analysis and, and ultimately, it can shorten the time from design to final product.

This one-day seminar will bring together not only experienced analysts supporting the design phase, but also the wider community of mechanical design engineers working with the simulation driven design approach.

We want to hear about your practical experience of simulation driven design. While all relevant contributions are welcome, we expect the following themes to be particularly important:

  • Structural, thermal, fluid, electromagnetics and coupled physics applications supporting design decisions,
  • Collaboration between design engineers and simulation specialists,
  • Design parameter space exploration and optimisation,
  • The role of AI and automation.
